Raymond Joseph (Ray) passed away peacefully on October 17, 2017 with Isobel, the love of his life by his side. Ray was born to Eva (Smith) and Leo McCarron on July 26, 1926, in London, Ontario and baptized at St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica. The family moved to Detroit and Kapuskasing and then settled in Toronto in 1934. Ray attended secondary school at De La Salle College. In the spring of 1942, he met Isobel McCarron a student at Loretto Abby. Ray enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy in July, 1944 where he served on the HMCS Wasaga minesweeper until the end of the war. He graduated from Kemptville Agricultural College, and then on June 12, 1948 he and Isobel were married. They raised five children and have numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had a long and distinguished career with Maple Leaf Mills and Pickseed. Later he created the Mapleseed Company. The family lived in Aurora, Port Hope, Peterborough, Ontario, Vancouver, B.C., Red Deer Alberta and Mississauga and Lindsay, Ontario. Ray was predeceased by his parents Eva and Leo and his sister Betty. He is survived by his loving wife Isobel Monica McCarron, brother Eugene McCarron; son Ken (Shannon) McCarron of Airdrie, Alberta; daughter Anne (Ron) Eaton of Alliston, Ontario; daughter Barbara (Scott) Anderson of Mississauga, Ontario; daughter Peggy (Keith) Lawson of Mesa, Arizona; and son Pat (Betty) McCarron of London, Ontario.
