In Celebration of

Peter Lubinsky

January 24, 1925 -  January 29, 2017

Peter Lubinsky, departed to his heavenly home on January 29, 2017 only days after celebrating his 92nd birthday with the family gathered together. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.
Beloved husband of the late Maria Lubinsky. Loving father to Lily (Henry) Jablonski, Anne (George) Poroniuk, and Irene (Art) Maxwell. Loving grandfather to Sarah (Neal), Laura (Cameron), Heather (Sean) and Beth-Anne. Cherished Great grandfather to Caroline and Jack.

It was the simple things around him in life that he never took for granted, commenting daily on how fortunate and thankful he was. He worked at Ford Motor Company in Oakville for over 25 years. He was a very caring and compassionate person, and always put the needs of others before his own. He was very involved and worked with the Evangelical Mission to Ukraine. Peter later took an active role as a member of the congregation at Martin Grove Baptist Church.

He enjoyed his personal ministry of visitation and provided encouragement, support and prayers for family, friends and shut-ins. He loved to sing hymns and lived by this faith until his last breath while hymns were played to comfort him.
He loved spending time with his family and always reveled in family gatherings where he said sitting back and listening to the chatter was like hearing birds chirping in the trees. It was only after a number of stumbles, mobility issues and noticing changes in his speech, Peter underwent many tests and was formally diagnosed with ALS at a late stage in his life. The decline was quite rapid but he always remained optimistic and maintained a positive spirit. He called his power wheelchair his new Cadillac - sorry Ford.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the ALS Society, the staff at Evergreen Retirement Community, and the nurses, staff and volunteers in 5J- Trillium Hospital Mississauga who assisted in Peter’s medical care with compassion.

Peter will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends.

It is with fond and happy memories we remember and celebrate the life of Peter Lubinsky. We met Peter in Nassau, Bahamas, as he embraced the salt life and enjoyed the ocean, the sunshine, the pool, and the Sundowners Club (cocktails by the pool with a beautiful sunset as the backdrop), with his daughter Anne and husband, George. I will always remember the best borscht I have ever eaten! - Peter made it and the RBE friends devoured it and enjoyed a fine dinner. Wishing you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead, and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts.
With deepest sympathy, Dee & David Farmer

We are sending our deepest sympathies to the family for their loss of a loving father.
Peter was on of our favourite uncles at the Ukrainian Baptist Church. He was always so happy, kind and encouraging to us kids! He was deeply loved! He even was very kind to my new wife who is not Ukrainian and made her feel welcomed and loved!

May God's grace be with the family through these tough and challenging days!

All our love!
