through a lot of hard work which included working sales at Eaton’s and with
Encyclopedia Britannica. Peter landed his first job in the Wines and Spirits Industry in
sales at McGuiness Distillers in 1957, where he would become President, helping to
build McGuiness Distillers and Agencies into one of the largest Wines and Spirits
companies in Canada. After 21 years, leaving McGuiness, in 1978, he founded PMA
(Peter Mielzynski Agencies) in 1979. PMA, 36 years later is one of the leading Wines

today. Peter spent nearly 60 years in the Canadian wine and spirits industry creating
and building companies and brands and employing thousands of people over that
time making an enormous contribution to the industry. His goal was always to make a
contribution to Canada which he did in many ways as a great Canadian. In 2014 Peter

Cecile, Andrew,Peter and Robert. Your Husband and Dad and especially you, of course Cecile were always a fixture in our many years at Georgian Bay. The summers we had there were never the same without the Meilzynski's and we fondly remember Peter as a friendly person who made our visits between cottages while not that frequent, were always happy, joyful times as we caught up with each other's family events over the previous winters. And the wines were always important as to Peter's latest discovery. Thank you for your friendship. We send our love, condolences, and our best wishes. My father, Zdzislaw, knew Peter Sr., from Poznan where they both lived before the war. Both immigrated to Canada after the war. At the time, if you were industrious, smart and a little lucky, Canada offered opportunity for a good and safe life. They both were able to provide well for their families. My sincerest condolences on Peter Sr.'s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Andrew Kryzan.
