In Celebration of

Peter Douglas Ranger

April 7, 1937 -  August 17, 2017

Peacefully, with loved ones by his side, following a most courageous battle, on the morning of Thursday, August 17, 2017, at the age of 80. He will be deeply missed by his beloved family including partner Allyson Luck, children Jacqueline, Donna (Craig Middaugh) and Martin, and cherished granddaughter Lilianna.

Peter approached everything in life with drive, determination and focus. He was incredibly intelligent and possessed an impressive memory with great capacity for detail.

As a young man, Peter served in the United Kingdom's Royal Air Force. By the age of thirty he was an established engineer who seized the opportunity to bring his young family to Canada for a better life. He went on to become a proud Canadian, and a self-made successful businessman and owner of Tenace Corporation.

Peter was an accomplished artist; he also loved sports, music and travel. He coached youth soccer, was an avid track and field fan, and until the age of 70 was a successful weightlifter and body builder, winning many awards.

His travels took him around the globe. He recounted with fondness many memorable experiences, never missing a single detail! The one place he loved, above all, was Amoudi Bay in Santorini, Greece. Its magic allowed him a sense of calm and freedom.

Go peacefully now, with the winds of Amoudi at your back.

In our hearts forever...

The entire Ranger family has had a long and enduring relationship to the Tropical Bar in Santorini. I first met Peter in the bar some thirty odd years ago. Over the years I came to know him as a kind and witty man who shared my passion for music, always ready for a chat. I feel fortunate to have known this man of many interests. My deepest condolences to his family and all who knew him as a friend. I would also like to extend condolences on behalf of the Tropical Bar. Pete was there at the start and will always be a part of our little piece of paradise. Farewell and rest well......
