Pete Villanueva

April 14, 1933 -  October 28, 2019

Pedro Emmanuel Villanueva peacefully transitioned and joined Our Creator on Monday, October 28, 2019, at the age of 86.

Loving husband to his wife of 62 years, Ofelia; devoted father to his children Aileen, Brenda (Philip) Navarro, Carla (Melvin) Tamondong, Deanna (Rodolfo) Lacuna, Elinor and Felix; cherished grandfather to Miguel Philippe (Mylene), Daniel Augustine (fiancée, Elise), Carl Aubrey (Sophainy), Miguel Andres, Adrien Louis, Jose Miguel and Ciara Marie; doting great grandfather to Aubrey, Ava, Oliver Jaxon, Amiyah and Blake Grayson; dear brother to Delano and Gumercindo Villanueva. Pete was the 4th of 8 children who was born in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines on April 14, 1933. He was preceded by his parents, Felix and Luz Villanueva, his only sister -Leticia, his (2) older brothers - Rogelio and Benjamin and (2) younger brothers - Nardo and Fredelindo.

He held senior management positions in the banking industry until his retirement in the Philippines. Pete and his family migrated to Canada in 1994 where they lived in Toronto and Mississauga.

Pete is a very passionate individual who loved helping the less fortunate & was an instrument in finding jobs for many people who wanted to work at the bank where he was employed. He loved basketball and boxing, played chess and was an avid crossword puzzle solver. He loved working with his crafty hands; he was interested in carpentry, gardening, and landscaping. Pete prayed all mysteries of the rosary on a daily basis.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter ‘Neweduk-Erin Mills’ Chapel, 1981 Dundas St. W., Mississauga (east of Erin Mills Pkwy), on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (5440 Durie Rd., Mississauga) on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 10:30am Pete’s remains will be cremated and his ashes will later be flown to the Philippines where it will stay in eternal rest.
