In Celebration of

Paul Eldon Hales

May 7, 1935 -  September 2, 2023

Peacefully at the Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga, on September 2, 2023 at the age of 88. Loving husband of Anne. Dear father of Michael (Michele) and Matthew (Sherri). Much loved Grandpa to Douglas (Lisa) and Mark (Dunya). Paul is survived by his dear sister Donna, and predeceased by his siblings Gail and Terry.

Paul was born in Toronto after his parents immigrated from England. In his early days Paul had a strong love of music and played the trumpet and coronet. Paul and Anne loved to vacation to many destinations; he especially remembered travelling with the family on the train to Western Canada, and for their 25th anniversary cruising on “The Love Boat” in Alaska. They enjoyed hosting many friends at their Sigmont home for pool parties and barbeques over the years. He was active in many sports including racquetball and squash, and especially enjoyed playing golf for many years. In his later years he assisted seniors with painting and decorating and was an avid Blue Jays fan. His greatest joy was the news that he was going to be a great grandfather!

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter “Peel” Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy 10 N. of Q.E.W) on Thursday from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 2473 Thorn Lodge Dr., Mississauga, on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 11 a.m.

For those who wish, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

My sincerest condolences to you Anne, your sons and all the family. Paul was a big part of our Eagle Ridge community and contributed his time and energy as an owner, a neighbour and member of the Board and its past President. In particular I will miss his daily walk to pick up the mail wherein he always greeted me with a big hello and even bigger smile. May he rest in peace.
