It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our brother, Patrick James Crowe. Pat was in his 78th year when he passed on March 30, 2026 at Michael Garron Hospital in Toronto.
In his youth, Pat played all star lacrosse and baseball at 2nd base. He became an avid golfer for much of his life and was a huge Blue Jays fan.
Pat started his writing career after Western University at the London Free Press as a Queens Park Reporter and ended up at The Toronto Star. Pat retired as a deputy editor for the weekend paper after having worked at The Star for about 31 years.
Pat is predeceased by his wife Bente (Rasmussen) of 36 years.
He is survived by his siblings: Bill (Hennie) John (predeceased Monica) Crowe, Andy (Gloria) Crowe, Eileen (Doug) Burgess and Paul (Lorri) Crowe; and many nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Pats wishes cremation has taken place. Please join the family for a visitation to share memories on Sunday, May 24, 2026 from 2-5 pm, at the Turner & Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (just north of QEW).
Special thanks to the ICU and Ward staff at Michael Garron Hospital in Toronto.
