Patricia Headon, 94, of Mississauga, passed away peacefully at Dorothy Ley Hospice, Etobicoke, on June 7, 2025. She was born on September 30, 1930 in Lincolnshire, England.
Predeceased by her loving husband, Allan Headon, who passed away in 2023. Lovingly remembered by her daughters Christine (David) and Elizabeth (Tim), and her two grandchildren whom she adored, Erika and Nicola. Pat also leaves behind two brothers, Peter and David, and nieces and nephews in England. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Pat came to Canada from Lincoln, England, with a friend, Olga Dennis, in 1955 intending to stay for only a year. She worked in Toronto as a Secretary in the Design Department of the CBC and later moved to Calgary, joining British Petroleum. After much travelling in Western Canada and the United States, she returned to Toronto and joined Imperial Oil. Pat was a member of the Alpine Ski Club and Toronto Hiking Club where she made many friends, including Allan!
In 1966 she married Allan in England and settled in Mississauga. The next years were spent raising two daughters, Christine and Elizabeth. During this period much time was spent with the children at the cottage in the summer and skiing in the winter, as well as doing volunteer work.
In later years, she enjoyed her grandchildren, Erika and Nicola, attending St. Hillary’s Anglican Church and helping out with the Craft Group and Food Cupboard, as well as enjoying activities at the Cawthra Park Senior Centre.
A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Hilary’s Anglican Church, 2055 Hurontario Street (just N. of QEW), Mississauga, ON, L5A 2E6, at a date to be determined. Cremation has taken place. This notice will be updated as soon as a date has been finalized.
The family welcomes donations to Easter Seals, St. Hilary’s Anglican Church or a charity of your choice in Pat’s memory.
