In Celebration of

Pat (Sarah Mary) Agius

January 7, 1932 -  October 23, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pat (Sarah Mary) Agius on October 23, 2025 at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late Horace Agius, dear mother to her sons Charles (Irene) Agius and Robert (Julie) Agius and to her daughters Elizabeth (Alex) Kwasnytzkyj, Barbara (Walter) Piskorz and Susan Agius. Pat was also the proud grandmother to 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Pat will be missed dearly by her large loving family and her close friends.

Pat was born in Gorey, Co. Wexford, Ireland to parents Elizabeth Doyle and Jim Dunbar. She is predeceased by her husband Horace, her brothers Jim (James), Paddy and her sisters Deb Leonidou and Rita Dunbar. Pat’s younger sister Lena Dunbar still lives in their hometown in Ireland.

Pat and Horace were young and free spirited when they each decided to move far from the safety and security of their respective homes to the far away and foreign place of London England. They met, fell in love and were married on January 15, 1955 in London. The newlyweds had two beautiful sons and emigrated to Canada in November, 1957. Their young family grew over the next few years to include three healthy girls. Through hard work, sacrifice and many blessings, they were able to buy their own home and raise 5 thriving children. Pat was an excellent mother, and those blessed enough to have known her would have met one of the Emerald Isles most precious exports.

The family will receive friends at the Turner & Porter Neweduk Erin Mills Chapel on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic church in Streetsville on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 10:30 a.m.

Lunch to follow at Union Social Eatery, 6986 Financial Drive Unit 6, Mississauga at 12:30 p.m. onwards

Mom you made each one of your children and grandchildren feel special and loved and always well fed. You taught us to love without abandon and walk an honourable path in life. You taught us to work hard and we will reap the rewards. You taught us that family is the beating heart of life. You taught us to live for today but keep an eye on tomorrow. You reminded us to laugh and to cry when we needed to. I will miss you Mom but you will always be a part of me. Rest now. Your job is done. Love you

Pat (Sarah Mary) Agius

Born January 7/1932 in Gorey, County Wexford, Ireland
Died October 23/2025 (aged 93 years) Mississauga, Ontario, Canada
Was married to Horace Agius (deceased January 10/2019) for 64 years. They emigrated to Canada in 1957 with then their 2 sons from England to create a new life in Canada. They came with nothing but a dream and determination. 3 daughters followed in fairly short order all born in Canada, the Family’s new home. She and Dad worked hard always and never lost sight of their dream for them and us. Theirs was a gift of sacrifice and opportunity to us. We are so very thankful of their vision, love, support and guidance making us the Family we are today.

Mum, Nanny as was her name to all in the Family and Pat to the world.
She was absolutely loved and treasured by all and loved all back. Her Family meant everything to her and she showed it. She was the proverbial Matriarch of our Family. She set the example including her standards of personal care being well coiffed, well dressed and elegant. She was beautiful to the end inside and out.
As a Mother she made it very apparent of her love by her unfailing joy to see us all thrive in our lives. She taught us the tools of love and success through her consistent demonstration of kindness, emotional support, character building, confidence, and positive energy. Her mantra was you can do anything you set your mind on and was so proud of witnessing accomplishments by all.
As a Grandmother she continued in the same vein and took so much joy in seeing her Family grow and continue to build successful lives.
As a Great Grandmother she adored them all and they her.
Mum was genuinely loved by all who crossed paths with her. She would engage cheerfully with everyone. Always made the point to “work the room” wherever she was. She was always gracious, kind and genuine to all.
Mum’s love will never be forgotten by any of us and the memory of her engraved in our hearts.

Rest In Peace in God’s loving arms and his Heavenly Garden our Irish Rose
