In Celebration of

Olga Nalyzyty

October 6, 1939 -  September 12, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Olga Nalyzyty on Friday, September 12, 2025, at the age of 86. Olga departed this world with grace, leaving behind her loving family. She is predeceased by her husband Gerry and son Mark. Olga is survived by her daughter Andrea (Stephen), her daughter Christina, and her grandchildren Adrianna (Steven), Katryna and Michael (Marta). Olga is also survived by family and many friends. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend.

Olga was born on October 6, 1939, in Montreal. It was in Montreal that she met the love of her life Gerry, and they were married in 1959. Olga and Gerry lived in Montreal with their three children (Andrea followed just 21 months later by Mark and Christina) until moving to Mississauga in 1984. Olga loved her family and taking care of them. She also cared about her community and volunteered in a number of organizations. Olga enjoyed sewing, knitting and embroidery as well as making large, delicious meals for her family and friends.

She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.

Friends may call that the Turner & Porter “Neweduk-Erin Mills” Chapel, 1981 Dundas Street West, Mississauga, on Monday, September 15 from 3 to 8pm. A Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 16 at 10am at St. Joseph’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 300 River Oaks Boulevard East, Oakville.

In memory of Olga, and in lieu of flowers, we suggest donations to Project Soniashnyk (a foundation for orphan children in Ukraine) or to CAMH.

Baba,

You were the very first person on this Earth who knew I was going to propose. Thank you for your blessing on that day. Adrianna and I will see you at the wedding, and cannot wait to share our memories of you with our future family. Please watch over us all, and help us to always treasure each other. Family is after all, one of God’s greatest gifts.
