In Celebration of

Nora Doreen Kershaw Telford

March 1, 1923 -  November 17, 2021

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, in her 99th year, at Billings Court Manor in Burlington, ON. Beloved and devoted wife of the late Reverend Francis James Telford. Loving and caring mother of Robert and Glenda and her husband Ken Kirchner. Adoring grandmother to Jim (Cindy), Robert (Alishia), Sara (Ryan Hutson) and great-grandmother to Trevor, Cole, Griffin, Blake, Layne, Lauren and Jake. Predeceased by her parents William Loftus and Elizabeth Marion Templeton (née Poyntz), brothers Charles and William, and sisters Kathleen and Doris Marion (Mickie). Nora will be fondly remembered by her nieces Bonnie, Karen and Charlene. Best known for her mastery of the Batik form of painting, Nora was also an accomplished artist in other media. Her work has been exhibited in many galleries across Ontario and was recognized by several awards from The Etobicoke Art Group. Much of her work focuses on the beauty in nature, Muskoka in particular. She, for many years exhibited at the annual Muskoka Art show in Bracebridge. Nora and Jim enjoyed spending summers at the cottage in Muskoka with family and friends. Nora was always busy creating or doing something for someone whether that be in the art community, for family, friends, neighbours or the church. She will be fondly and lovingly remembered and deeply missed. Much appreciation to the doctors and staff at Billings Court Manor for their excellent and compassionate care during her time there. Due to Covid restrictions, a service will be held at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society or Heart and Stroke would be appreciated by the family.
