In Celebration of

Nicolino (Nick) Donazio Marotta

May 24, 1935 -  November 22, 2020

Passed away peacefully at home after a long battle with cancer with his loving family by his side. Nick will forever be loved and missed by his wife Lois, children John, Daniel and Nancy (Mike) Goddard. He was a loving Nonno to Nicholas, Ashley, Marion and Erica. Bis Nonno to Kamrin, Jackson, Scarlett, Daniel and Hendrix. Nick will be dearly missed by his sister, Olga Berardi, sisters in law Pat Rankin, Jo Daly, brother in law, Fred Bergman and many nieces and nephews.

Nick was born in Calabria, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1950. He was a successful business man in Toronto, owning and operating Marotta Electronics for over 40 years. Nick had the most charismatic personality that touched all who knew him. He was a fantastic cook and was happiest when he was entertaining family and friends. Nick loved spending his winters at his Florida home in Dunedin and summers in Mississauga. Life will never be the same without him.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a small family funeral will be held on November 26, 2020 at Turner and Porter, Peel Chapel. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mississauga.

Many thanks to Dr. Mary Fran Bolland and his many Doctors at Princess Margaret. In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated to the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

My sincerest condolences to the entire Marotta family. Nick was an amazing father-in-law and friend to me for many years. He will be missed so much by his grandkids and I am comforted by the beautiful photos and memories of gourmet Sunday family dinners and Florida vacations. Nick touched so many lives and will be sorely missed. Much love and big hugs to the entire Marotta family. xo

Lois, we are very sorry for your loss. Nick was so lucky to have you in his life. You brought him much joy and happiness and looked after him in the best possible way. He was very proud of you.

We loved Nick. He was a wonderful, kind and very generous person. Paul had a long business relationship with Nick in the electronics business and, more important, on a personal basis. We have so many fond memories.

Big Hugs
