My dearest sympathies to Leslie and your entire family. While I didn't spend a lot of time with Neil he was a sweet, kind and generous man whom I will always remember for his insatiable desire for learning and discovery.
Neil has been a very dear friend for more than 30 years. We laughed together often, especially over often ridiculous work situations. In 1993, Neil helped me pick out my wedding dress. And we loved going to live performances together .. hundreds of times at least. When I moved to the Arctic and later, Neil and Leslie to Windsor, we kept in touch through long phone conversations, emails and FB. I'm thankful we were able to see each other in Toronto several times over the past year.
I will miss him. Godspeed my friend.
I'm so sorry, Jessica. I know this is a huge loss. I'm thinking of you.
Dear Leslie
Thomas and I are very sorry to hear that Neil has passed away at such a young age. We lost my mother last year and know the emptiness you feel. Words cannot express how deep the loss of a loved one can be. We will always think fondly of Neil’s generosity in offering the use of your Windsor home to my family when my niece was getting married. That was almost 10 years ago! Neil and I shared many enjoyable lunches at work talking about our respective families and sharing info that made our lives easier at work. Again, our deepest condolences. Thomas and Carol Ann Burgmann
Such a shock that Neil is gone, just when he should be discussing films from TIFF and enjoying wonderful concerts and cultural events in Toronto. May his happy memory be a comfort.
