Loving husband of Josette, exceptional father to Christopher and Alyssa, devoted son of Antonio and Antonietta, and caring brother of Angela and Frank. It is with great regret and sadness that the De Luca family announce the passing of Natale. He passed away peacefully at the Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga, Ontario on July 4, 2012 surrounded by his family. Born November 29, 1959 in Cosenza, Italy, Natale emigrated to Canada with his parents and brother at the age of two. They settled in Thunder Bay, Ontario before making their way south to Toronto. His entire life, Natale loved the outdoors; whether it was to play soccer and cycle with his brother at a young age, or to maintain his immaculate garden later in life. Natale was also a skilled baker, touching the hearts (and tongues!) of everyone who ate his delightful confections! Around the world, friends and family members looked forward to any occasion that might prompt Natale to bake for them; Natale's creations were craved by watering mouths as far away as London, England and the Caribbean.
Unfortunately, he also had to endure much hardship and pain throughout his life. At the age of sixteen he underwent a series of difficult surgeries that changed his life forever. He also suffered later in life from two herniated discs that caused him a great deal of lasting pain in his lower back. It is because of all of the strength that he accumulated over the years that he was able to courageously battle his cancer until the end. It was, unfortunately, a gruelling and taxing year for Natale, but he never made a fuss about himself. Instead, in his true fashion, he always asked how his friends and family were doing first and foremost. We have all been truly blessed to have Natale in our lives for as long as we did, and he has left behind a great legacy with the many people who were fortunate enough to have been touched by his kind and gentle spirit.
