Nancy Duez

September 18, 1944 - June 19, 2017

Passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside on June 19, 2017, at age 72. A skilled bilingual editor and writer with a lifelong love of animals and the outdoors, Nancy will be deeply missed by her many pets, family, and friends. Loving mother of Estelle (Devin), Pierre (Martha), Marc and Sacha (deceased), and cherished friend of Marc Duez. Beloved grandmother of Ewan, Alec, Claire and Ella. Dear sister of Doug Beckett and Joan (Kit) Simpson, and daughter of Keith and Eleanor Beckett (both deceased). The family would like to extend their profound and sincere thanks to the staff and volunteers of the Kensington Hospice for their thoughtful care during Nancy's final days. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St W, on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 11 a.m., with a reception to follow. Private Family interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Kensington Hospice or the SickKids Foundation would be appreciated.

Je garde le souvenir d'une femme lumineuse et belle à tous points de vue. Elle rayonnait et son humanité était immense.
Je pense à mes cousins et partagé leur peine. C'est un deuil terrible, comme elle doit leur manquer. ...
Toute mon affection à ma famille canadienne, Estelle, Pierre, Marc, Devin, Martha, Ewan, Claire, Alec et Ella.
Et mon oncle Marc qui avait tant d'estime pour elle.
Elle est dans mon coeur...

A nos très chers neveux et nièces Estelle et Devin, Pierre et Martha et Marc, ainsi qu'à leurs enfants Ewan, Alec, Claire et Ella , à notre frère Marc ,ainsi qu'a tous ceux qui ont connu et beaucoup aimé Nancy , nous adressons nos plus affectueuses pensées en ces moments douloureux.

Nous avons rencontré Nancy , pour la première fois en 1973 et notre affection réciproque a été immédiate et ne s'est jamais démentie. Elle restera toujours notre sœur ,et gardera une grande place dans nos cœurs

Nancy was a dear and wonderful friend who will be greatly missed by so many people. She enriched my life by being an important part of it ever since we were teenagers.
My deepest sympathy to her children, grandchildren, sister, brother and other family members. May she rest in peace after a valiant struggle. God bless you, Nancy.

Today, my condolences to Leslie, Elissa, Reid also to your immediate families of Estelle, Marc, Pierre brother, Pierre and Doug. So sorry to hear of your loss. When I last saw Nancy I was no more than 8 years old. Me and my sisters always admired our neighbour Nancy because she was a good friend to our parents and was so tall and kind and interesting to us.
