In Celebration of

Nadia Natalae Billy (nee Beyak)

February 2, 1933 -  January 4, 2020

“The sun rises each morning, bringing another unique day in time, and so it will continue, that’s the wonder of life”

It is with sadness and gratitude, that the family of Nadia Billy share the news of her peaceful passing on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.

After her lengthy battle with multiple health complications and with her family by her side, she moved to life eternal where she will have peace and be free of all pain.

Predeceased by her husband Ben (January 2015), her parents Catherine and Peter, her brothers Ross, Les and Bill, she is survived by her sister Marcelle.

She will always be the beloved mother to Brian, Darryl (Wendy), and Mary Lou. Her grandson Matthew (Sara) has been her pride and joy and now lives on in heart and in name by her beautiful great-granddaughter, Nadia of Calgary.

This Christmas was extra special for ‘Baba’ as lil Nadia was here and was so loving, caring, tender and interactive with her, leaving so many wonderful and cherished memories that gave her smiles and strength every moment of every day.

Nadia was born in Ethelbert, MB., left the rustic farm and difficult life in the mid 1940’s with her family and headed to Toronto. There she met Bennie and married in 1953 choosing to settle in Oakville, June 1959.

A role model for us all, she worked full time and raised her family; she found time to be involved with many charities, the Ukrainian Church community, women’s auxiliary groups, Girl Guides, bowling, knitting and crochet groups, even euchre teams. She always had a warm and loving accepting heart which inspired, encouraged, fed and laughed with many family, friends and even strangers. Her essence will be lovingly cherished.

The family extends a special Thank You to her family doctors - the late Dr. Rouse and Dr. Ruparelia. Also to Dr. Jeffries and Dr. McConachie and the staff of Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, Halton EMS and Oakville Fire Dept. for their dedicated care, service and support that our mother received.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, January 11th between 2-5pm (3pm prayers) at Turner & Porter Neweduk – Erin Mills Chapel, 1981 Dundas St. W. Mississauga. A memorial and burial will be held later.

In lieu of flowers, please make a tribute in memory of Nadia to Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital at https://oakvillehospitalfoundation.com/ . Donations in her memory will be directed to support the programs Nadia loved, helping other patients find joy, experience a sense of purpose, and lift their spirits throughout their recovery.
