In Celebration of

Murray Sullivan

March 14, 1925 -  November 11, 2018

It is with sadness and great love that we announce Murray’s passing on November 11, 2018 after a fall at home and brief hospital stay. Murray was dedicated husband to Barbara (nee Ferrie), father to Kathy, Ian, Trish (Michael & Sarah) and Lisa (Valentine), grandfather to Jack, Sydney, Nigel, and Holly, good friend, and affectionately known as “Big Mur“ to many.

Murray was the youngest of seven siblings in a lively Irish Catholic family. He enjoyed great times as a student of St. Michael’s College School in Toronto. He was a talented athlete in many sports and proud winner of three Grey Cups with the Toronto Argonauts. An avid skier, Murray was a long time member of the Osler Bluff Ski Club. Always a competitor, Murray loved tennis, squash, fitness and humour with good friends at the Badminton & Racquet Club in Toronto well into his 90’s. He enjoyed many summers with his family in Georgian Bay at an island cottage which he built with his own hands.

Murray never lost his enormous zest for life, giving everything he had until his very last day. His family, and all those whose lives he touched, will continue to hold that flame deep within our hearts.

Visitation will be at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St West, at Windermere, east of Jane subway, on Friday November 16 from 2-4 pm, and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at All Saints Catholic Church, 1415 Royal York Road, on Saturday November 17, 2018 at 10 am. A celebration of Murray’s life at the Toronto Lawn Tennis Club (44 Price Street, Toronto), at 2-5 pm. Online condolences may be made through www.turnerporter.ca
