In Celebration of

Muriel Lilian Gibson

December 16, 1923 -  January 24, 2019

Peacefully, on Thursday, January 24, 2019, at Wesburn Manor, Toronto, at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late John “Jack” Gibson. Loving mother of Deborah Gibson, Jennifer Burke (Michael) and the late Holle-Helen and John David Jr. Much loved grandmother of Andrew (Marie), Melissa, Jordon, Julie, Mathieu and great grandmother of Jaxx and Forrest Burke. Dear sister of Margaret “Peggy” Huether and the late John L Holle both of Kitchener. Muriel is predecessed by her parents Adele and Percy Holle and life long sister/aunt Bernice Hughes of Vancouver. Always a gracious lady with kind eyes, her life commitments, joys and values centered around faith, family and friends. She was intelligent and curious, exhibited by participating in bible study, taking night courses, travelling, conversations with all who crossed her path and reading her daily newspaper up until the end. She joined the Catholic Womens League in 1950, was a 50 year parishioner at St. Patrick’s Church and a long time member of the Carmel of St. Joseph. Like her mother, Muriel lived by her grandmother’s advice to do the best you can and adjust to life’s circumstances.

If desired, remembrances may be made to Trillium Health Partners or the Congregation of the Resurrection (John, Dave, and Muriel Gibson Family Burse).

Our deepest sympathies Debbie and Jenny and your families. Mom (Colleen Heckendorn) called to tell me Muriel had died. Thank you for calling her to let her know. Mom enjoyed her weekly late night phone calls with her dear cousin, Muriel. She also remembers with much love their childhood together in Kitchener and area. I remember Muriel as a kind and generous woman of deep faith. Even though I am an Anglican Priest, I always felt her personal support for my vocation. We shall miss her, but have many fond memories to cherish such as the many gatherings with our Grandmother, Antoinette Brock, and Muriel. As a child I remember her and you from my visits at Auntie Lolly's home. Remember the grape vines!
Much love from Kim and Dale, Dana, Jeremy, and Greta, Nicholas, Rachel, Gillian, and Maggie and Colleen.
May she rest in peace and rise in glory!
