In Celebration of

Mrs. Barbara Murphy

November 7, 1923 -  January 4, 2021

Murphy, Barbara (nee Fetter)
Peacefully at Burton Manor in Brampton on Monday, January 4, 2021, at the age of 97. Beloved wife of the late James Chester Murphy. Loving mother of the late Nancy Allison, Susan (James Keenan), Jim (Suzanne). Cherished Grandmother of Michael (Brenna), Timothy (Aneta), Patrick (Daria) Keenan, Lauren (Sebastian Miller), and Lindsay Murphy.
Great Grandmother of Ellerie, Shea, and Raina Keenan. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Barbara was born in Yugoslavia, immigrating to Canada in 1928. She met the love of her life, Jim Murphy and they were married on August 24, 1946, 9 days after Jim returned from the navy. They were happily married for 50 years, residing in Windsor, Ontario. Barb will be remembered fondly as a loving Grandmother who taught her Grandchildren how to make strudel and a loving mother who will be remembered for making family meals that brought us all together. She leaves behind a legacy of love and decades of precious memories.

Cremation to take place and a private celebration of life to be arranged at a later date.

In kindness, memorial donations to Food Bank Canada or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Thank you to the caring, committed staff at Burton Manor.

We are sorry for your loss but celebrate your dear mom and the lovely family she and Jim raised. We have fond memories of their visits to Nancy's cottage on Quarry Island in Honey Harbour. Barb and Jim were dear people. We loved it when Nan treated us to her mom's fried chicken and those mouth watering doiglies. You are a special family. Barb & Jim did well. Sincere sympathy to all of you, Linda & Jim
