In Celebration of

Mila Jurisic

March 25, 1937 -  August 14, 2025

The most beautiful, gentle, and kindest soul has passed away, with family by her side.

Cherished mother to Susan (Svetlana), Mother In Law to Brad, adored Baba to Amanda and Taylor, (her Boo Boo), our Baba has left footprints on many hearts that will comfort in times of deep sorrow.

Survived by her sister Jelica, and her sister in law Marija, their children, spouses, and grandchildren, she will always be referred to by all who knew her simply as Baba.

When meeting people, in particular those with children and animals, she would say “I’m Baba” or “call me Baba”. Animals, especially dogs were her favourite beings on earth, and there was not one who didn’t respond to her with sheer delight. Especially her “lile Kai”

One of Baba’s greatest joys in life was playing bocce with her group at the Croatian Park. Every day, winter spring summer fall, no matter the weather, this determined group of people would make their way down to the bocce courts. Days were filled not only with games, but many social gatherings in their “hotel”

Never one to sit for long, over the course of her life there were numerous holidays. Cruising through Europe, Alaska, and summer in Croatia, USA, and the Caribbean, all with her best friend Zvjezdana (Stella). The two musketeers and what a pair they were; never a dull moment, nothing they wouldn’t try.

There is much to say about this most wonderful Mother, Baba, and human being. She enjoyed the daily simple things in life and she enjoyed them most with her daughter and granddaughters by her side. The love she had for her grandchildren was immeasurable and always unconditional. The bond they shared is indescribable.

It’s not goodbye, it’s simply farewell until we meet again…
