In Celebration of

Meta Kazakevicius

March 5, 1925 -  October 1, 2017

Evening of October 1, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Edward Kazakevicius, she is survived by daughter Irene (Gord), son Edmund, daughter-in-law Sharon (late Edward), granddaughters Emily, Kimberly (Geoff) and Tamara, and great-grandchildren Colin, Kelsey, and Abigail.

Born in Lithuania, she was one of eight children of Steponas Kirejevas and Joanna Vestfaldt. The family was displaced during military occupations of the country during World War II and while most of them survived, they were never to all be together again. Meta married in a refugee camp and immigrated to Canada after the war. She was very active with the Lithuanian scouting movement throughout her life and took great delight in reminiscing about her years as a “brownie” leader.

Meta was predeceased by her parents and siblings Lena, Olga, Valdemar, Lyda, Berta, Karl and Zina. Surviving family includes numerous nephews and nieces in Lithuania, Germany, the United States and Canada.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St. (Hwy. 10, N of QEW), on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. Interment St. John’s Lithuanian Cemetery.

The families of KAZAKEVICIUS
While words fail to capture the pains of losing a loved one, we look forward to the time when words will fail to capture the joy of having our heavenly father Jehovah return your dear one to you as promised at:
John 5:28-29, Isaiah 25:8 and Rev 21: 3-5.
Kindly accept my condolences.
