I got to know Merv back in the late 80's after I joined GE. He was a man who welcomed me into the HR group. He was a very warm and caring guy. He was always asking about my family and my work. In 1990 during the Gulf war, when Iraq was shooting missiles into Israel (where my sister's family lived) he asked me every day how they were faring. He showed real concern and interest, not just then, but always. He was a real "mentch".

Mrs. Nowak, Michelle, Jim and family, entire Nowak family
We are truly saddened and heart broken that Mr. Nowak has passed on much too soon. He was such an AMAZING, LOVING, CARING man to everyone and will be dearly missed. Scott and Ryan will definitely miss chatting with him at the hospital and seeing his smiling face every chance they had and so often. Our sincerest sympathy too all of you.

Dear Family of Merv,
My deepest condolences on the loss of your husband, father, grandfather. Merv was a gentleman in every sense of the word. I so enjoyed working with him for many years at GE. He was a great mentor and colleague -- a voice of reason and also creator of fun - with an infectious smile. My thoughts are with you at this sad time.
