I worked with Mel in Store Planning and Visual Merchandising at Sears and enjoyed my time that Mel was my boss. He was a great mentor and friend in the office and on the road at store openings. I miss his stories! He was one of my best memories of my time at Sears. May he rest in peace.

Many many years ago our golf trip one year — I think Dominican but I’m not sure — was only 4 people. Your dad, me, Ismail and I have no memory who the fourth was. I was weirdly worried that we would not have anything to talk about at dinner so I came up with the idea that each night one of us would talk about his background— birth, upbringing, school, work, etc. Mel went first and was fascinating. Funny, interesting, charming. As you can see from the emails I have forwarded, we miss him.
