In Celebration of

Maxine Mary Hartry

March 7, 1925 -  December 2, 2016

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Maxine Mary Hartry (née Armitage) at The Village of Humber Heights on Friday, December 2, 2016 at the age of 91. We knew that it had to happen, yet there was always a sense she would go on forever. We cannot imagine life without her presence. Maxine was a lovely, kind hearted and generous lady always putting others first. She had a keen sense of fun and humour. She and Doug were sweethearts for seventy-four years from the time they were seventeen. Nothing is more steadfast than his love for her.
Survived by her beloved husband Douglas, brothers Ross (Elizabeth), Chuck (Merilyn). Maxine leaves behind her three loving daughters Nancy (Frank Burke), Lesley (Terry Marshall), and Susan (Rod Millard). Cherished nana to Scott (Julie), Lauren, Trevor (Mary-Claire), Cameron (Jenn), Gaelan (Courtney), Jocelyn, and Kelly (Paul). Caring great nana to her great grandson Hudson. A special thank you to Doctors Arya, Menzies, Heffer, Logsetty, the staff at The Village of Humber Heights, and especially Neli and Kamevil for their loving and compassionate care. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane Subway, on Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, 3962 Bloor Street West, Toronto on Friday, December 9, 2016. A Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 11 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to the Rotary Club of Etobicoke or to St. Matthew’s Anglican Church.

My sincere sympathy for your family. Maxine was such a real joy to be involved with and loads of fun and good laughs. She.... so loved all her family and was so pleased when any of her grand kids were coming over. Her life was filled with wonderful family and memories of such joy. If we could all have such a full and happy life, we would all be so lucky. Her grace, her class she was a beautiful soul! May her memories and character live on in your kids so you can see her strong genes passing onto her offspring. She was just lovely! I truly feel blessed to have known her! Sincerely Fay
