Candice: I’ll always have fond memories of my grandma’s smile and her laughter which seemed unable to be contained, filling up whatever room she was in. She would always pull us in for an extra hug, and seemed to light up when she was surrounded by family. My sister and I used to love chasing each other through the hanging bead curtains in her kitchen, and it made me laugh knowing they still hang there decades later—Grandma never was one for change. Grandma always wanted to be the ultimate hostess and every time we went to visit, we’d be sure to have unlimited amounts of puffy Cheetos. Having lived in England for 10 years now, we haven’t been able to see her as much as we would have liked, but being fortunate enough to have spoken to her via a video chat only a couple weeks ago, it was like she hadn’t aged at all. Yes, she was ill. Yes, looked older. However, none of that mattered: that same infectious enthusiasm was exactly the grandma I remember. We will be sure to have some Cheetos in her honour tomorrow, and I only hope her strength, determination, and genuine laughter is something I will pass on to my children.
Jarrod: We send our deepest condolences to all of the family, especially Angie, Mike and Kevin. Saddened as we are that we can't be there in person with you, know that we are with you in spirit and our prayers hopefully will grant you some comfort.
With all our love....Jarrod, Candice, Scarlett and Isaac.
Our thoughts are with you all as you remember your mom. It is never easy losing a parent. The obituary you wrote about her is beautiful and we enjoyed learning more about her upbringing and her past. May you find comfort in the strength she found in her faith, knowing she is at peace and at home with her God. We hold you in our thoughts as you heal from your loss. Hugs to you all, Cheryl and DIno.
