Peacefully, on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, at the age of 93. Beloved husband of the late Barbara. Loving father of Anne Payne (Ross), Matt (Kathy), John (Isabel) and Mary Sallach (late Fred). Cherished grandfather of Laura, Todd, Mark, Kyle, Ryan, Deanna, Lauren, Brandon, Corey, Andrew and great grandfather of Luke and Adam. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane Subway, on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady Queen of Croatia, 7 Croatia St., on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at 9 a.m. Interment Assumption Cemetery.

I remember when Matt Jr hit me over the head with a pipe in the late 60's when we were in Toronto when they had the duplex (looking for me when we were playing hide in seek in the hedges...I still like though). When I went to their house to get ice on my head, Matt Sr said giving me ice to put on my head, "He be alright" with a smile on his face! Prayers to the family during this time.
