Mary Veronica Hayes

February 25, 1920 -  October 7, 2017

Peacefully, at the age of 97 years, on Saturday October 7, 2017, at the Ballycliffe Nursing Home- Ajax. Mary was predeceased by her husband Clair. They shared 65 wonderful years together and were loving and devoted parents of Anita Comer (deceased), Dee Dee Hayes (John Massie), Dan (Rosemary), Vicky Andress (Cam), and Sean (Angel). Cherished Gramma of Rebecca, Jeremy, Shawna, Genna, Jesse, Kate, Liam, Anthony, Georgia, and Breanna. Great Gramma of Ethan, April, Isla, Evan, Brendan, Avery and Benjamin. Dear sister of Victoria (Nini) and the late Anita Pallante, and Ernie, Frank, Joe, and Rocco Genovese. Mary is remembered for her deep faith in God and was very active in the Our Lady of Peace Catholic Women’s League. She is especially remembered for her love of family, her strong character, spoiling her grandchildren, and her amazing Italian meals. The family would like to express our appreciation to the staff at Ballycliffe Lodge for their compassionate care over the last 5 years. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W., at Burnhamthorpe, on Friday from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 9-11 a.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 3914 Bloor St. W., Toronto, on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
