In Celebration of

Mary Relic

June 22, 1920 -  February 5, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Relic (nee Boich) on February 5, 2022, in Mississauga, at the age of 101.

Mary was born in Croatia on June 22, 1920. She was a loving and dedicated mother to three daughters and their husbands, Marilyn and Joe, Joy (predeceased) and Bob, and Janice and Ray. A wonderful and caring grandmother, she was adored by her six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Nicholas (2002) and her siblings, Martha, Joseph and Angie.

Mary was the matriarch of the family and the glue that bound us all. She exemplified quiet strength, perseverance, and resilience. She was thoughtful and kind, always putting others first. Grounded by her unshakeable faith and guided by her love and commitment to family, she taught us the importance of forgiveness.

Mary was cognitively intact and a determined force to the end. She was so happy enjoying the beauty of nature on a sunny day, with family and friends. A truly amazing woman who will remain in our hearts forever.

Due to COVID restrictions, a private family visitation will be held at Turner and Porter Funeral Home. A funeral mass will take place at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Etobicoke, followed by interment at Park Lawn Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Canadian Cancer Society.

We wish to extend our sincerest sympathy to all the family as we know how much love flowed from this caring mother to her daughters and their families and was returned in kind.
Mary had great stamina and courage, combined with strong faith which inspired those who knew her and those who heard about her, through her loved ones.
As she now rests in the arms of the Lord she loves, she surely will be praying for those who were so kind and caring to her while she was on earth.
Sincerely, Sandra and John Van Raay
