In Celebration of

Marjorie Lillian Thomas (nee Priestley)

November 20, 1929 -  October 3, 2022

Passed away peacefully on October 3, 2022, at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, in her 93rd year, with her family by her side. Predeceased by her beloved husband Edgar (2004), with whom she shared 52 wonderful years. Loving mother of Susan Romanick (Paul), Deborah Thomas (Gary), Sandy Donovan (late Martin), and Pamela Blacker (Rod). Grandmother of Danielle Weddepohl (Mark), Anne-Marie Dawes (Trevor), Carly Donovan Taylor-Scott (Merrick), Kaitlin van Zutphen (Marshall), Colin Romanick (Dora), Darryl Blacker (Becky), and Evan Blacker (Keira). Proud great-grandmother of Helaina, Hendrick, Porter, Navy, Claire, Rex, and Martin. Remembered by her niece Kimberley Mile and her husband Richard and great Aunt to Jeffery and his partner Lindsey and Ashley and her partner Jonathon. She will be lovingly remembered by her lifelong friend Betty.

Marjorie grew up in the east end of Toronto (the Beaches). As a child, she enjoyed speed skating and playing baseball with her father, and attended Malvern Collegiate where she graduated from the secretarial program. Early in her working life, she met Edgar at Shell Oil, and they were married in 1951. They later moved from Mimico to Clarkson, where they built a home and raised their four daughters. In her early years she enjoyed playing bridge and poker with her friends. Marjorie always had a great flair for fashion and enjoyed wearing hats and having her hair done each week. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held. Online condolences may be made through www.turnerporter.ca
