In Celebration of

Mario DiMichele

July 10, 1935 -  January 31, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mario DiMichele on January 31, 2023 in his 88th year.

He was born on July 10, 1935 to Giovanni and Giovanna DiMichele in the small town of S. Iona in the province of L’Aquila, Italy. Having lost his father at the age of 2, he learned quickly to do any job or task to support his family including, travelling to Venezuela in search of work as a teenager, returning only to marry the love of his life Paolina. He carried that same work ethic to Canada in 1960 where he bought his first home and started his family. After working several jobs, he became self-employed and continued successfully for nearly 40 years.

Having a strong work ethic that was unparalleled, he passed it down to his 3 sons and 4 granddaughters. He was completely selfless when it came to his family, whether it be driving them to sporting events or tirelessly helping them around their homes. He had exceptional physical strength that was matched only by his mental determination. Although the final 10 years posed considerable health challenges, he always maintained a smile and an amazing positive spirit.

He is survived by his 3 sons; Vincenzo (Tiba), Giovanni (Leigh), Bruno (Leanne) as well as granddaughters; Samantha (Luca), Alexandra (Thomas), Sara and Kaileigh. He is predeceased by his brother Amato (Amalia), brother-in-law Nazzareno (Maria).

He will also be greatly missed by his brother-in-law Antonio (Flavia). The family would like to thank his unbelievable care team including; Diamond, Gretchen, Mavis, Princess and others. A very special thank you to our amazing and newly appointed family member Pamela who will certainly miss Nonno as much as we will.

Vince & Family,
So sad to hear of your Dad's passing.
Our condolences to you and your family.
Though we never met your dad, we know of him through the stories you've told and the values he instilled in you.
This moment is bittersweet.
You can now proceed with your life yet would trade that road to be close to him again.
Take comfort knowing you did everything you could to make his final days as peaceful and safe as possible.
Your parents would be so proud of how you and your families turned out.
Much Respect,
Henry Lee
