In Celebration of

Marilyn (Marnie) Torrance

August 24, 1927 -  June 12, 2022

It is with profound sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Marnie (Marilyn) Joyce Torrance, nee Drew on Sunday, June 12 2022. She passed away peacefully with family by her side. Marnie was just shy of her 95th birthday. Marnie will be sadly missed by her three children, Ian (Marg), Heather (Glenn) and David (Sonya). Marnie was predeceased by her parents Noble and Jessie Drew, husband John Alfred Torrance, daughter Beth Anne, and Sister Carol Drew Pulver. She is survived by her sister Lorraine (Drew) Millward and brother-in-law Alfred Pulver. Marnie adored her six grandchildren, Shannon, Tyler, Kaitlin, Breanne, Kyle and Christopher. Marnie was a proud Great Grandmother to Jackson, Bowen, Cole, Isabella, Blake, Sophie, Parker and Emerson, with a ninth great grandchild due in July. Marnie will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews.

She was a wonderful, thoughtful, energetic woman. Marnie was a pillar in her community and church. She was well respected by all who knew her. Marnie lived life to the fullest, always giving back to her peers and community as much as possible. She was an avid traveller in later years, she thoroughly enjoyed seeing the wonders of the world with her friends.

Family and friends may call at Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St W, Etobicoke on Tuesday June the 21st at 2 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. A celebration of Marnie’s life will be held following the service at Tapestry Village, 15 Summerland Terrace, Etobicoke. Marnie will be laid to rest alongside her husband John, at Park lawn Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation in Marnie’s name to the Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

“In life, we loved you dearly, in death we love you still.
In our hearts you hold a place, no one else will ever fill”
