In Celebration of

Marija Bogovic

1934-2023

We mourn the death of Marija Bogovic, who passed away on January 9, 2023, at 88 years of age. Marija was a beloved mother to Antonia (Kurt), Christine and grandmother to Kate and Tina. She was born in Cetingrad, Croatia (former Yugoslavia) and came to Canada in the 1960s to seek a better life. Maria lived a joyful and independent life up until her recent diagnosis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). She loved to garden, cook and spend time with her grandchildren and close friends.

Our family would like to give thanks to the caregivers from Extendicare Brampton, Brampton Civic Hospital and Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga.

Poem by Christine Curran

In Remembrance
You gave me life
To live as I please,
You gave me love and support
to follow my dreams.
Your beauty lives
Forever deep in my soul,
The memory of your love fills my heart
and I am never alone.

Viewing and prayers will be on Monday, January 16, 2023, at Turner & Porter, Mississauga (Dundas St. West location) from 6pm until 9pm. Church mass will be on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at the Croatian Martyrs parish, 4605 Mississauga Road, starting at 10am.
