Marianne Wilson

September 30, 1943 -  January 20, 2023

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marianne in her 80th year at the Ian Anderson House on Friday, January 20th.

Predeceased by her parents, Frank and Elinor Maiola (nee Markle) she leaves behind her loving children, Bill and spouse Colleen Wilson and Catherine and spouse Michael Reidy. Cherished Nana of Brittany and spouse Brandon Cousins, and Breanne Reidy. Wonderful Aunt of Ryan, Antonija, Brayden and Danica Maiola and Matthew, Alison, Gabby, and Gavin Maiola and Tonia Ferguson, Heidi Flowers, and James Wilson.

She will be greatly missed by her sister Frances Maiola, brother Ward Maiola and sister-in-law Susan Maiola.

Marianne loved her work as a secretary for the Peel District School Board, especially her years at Marvin Heights Public School and her many friends and coworkers.

Her lifelong friends from Dixie Arena and Mississauga Reps hockey held a special place in her heart.

Thank you to the Doctors, nurses and staff at Credit Valley Hospital Cancer Centre.

Thank you to the palliative care team at Mississauga Halton LHIN and the staff from Acclaim Health.

Special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses, staff and volunteers at Ian Anderson House.

Visitation is at the Turner Porter Funeral Home (Neweduk-Erin Mills Chapel, 1981 Dundas St. W, Mississauga, On L5K 1R2 on Thursday, January 26th from 4 - 8 pm.

Mass will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Loyola Parish, 2300 Burnhamthorpe Rd W., Mississauga, On L5L 3T6 on Friday, January 27th at 11:00 am.

Bill, very sorry to learn of your mom's passing. One of my most recent memories of Marianne was touring her at the vineyard and tasting wines. She was a wonderful person with an ever-present smile and will be forever remembered fondly.
