Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the age of 88, on July 21, 2023.

Marianne is predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Donald (1995) and her sons Timothy (1999) and John (2018).

She is survived by her children Greg (Diane), Holly Abraham (Peter), and Mary Ellen Thornley (Grant), and daughter-in-law Patricia Finkle. Marianne was blessed with 10 grandchildren: Meghan Eichenberger (Curt), Tom Finkle, Jason Abraham (Katie), Sean Abraham, Luke Abraham, Colleen Thornley, Erin Thornley, Michael Finkle, Mitchell Finkle and Jane Finkle; and one great-grandchild Parker Eichenberger.

Marianne cared deeply about her family, and was blessed with a wonderful sense of humour; she loved music and wine, watching sports, and enjoyed travelling the world. In lieu of flowers, Marianne would appreciate your support of Covenant House .

A special thanks to Dr. Asha Gupta and Dr. Laura Harild at Credit Valley Hospital, as well as the nurses from Acclaim Health, for their great care and kindness throughout Mom’s illness. As well, heartfelt thanks to the team at The Shores of Port Credit, especially Jana and Rose and their health team - they took such good care of Mom and our family.

A funeral mass will take place at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea, in Port Credit, Ontario, on Thursday, July 27, at 11:00 am, with a Celebration of Life following mass.

A private family interment is planned.
