Maria Natalia Moniz Raposo passed away peacefully at home early Christmas morning at the age of 104.

Born in Arrifes, São Miguel, Açores to the late, Manuel Ferreira Afonso and Maria da Conceiçao.

She was the third of five children, surviving her three siblings, Conceiçao, Manuel and Evelina and survived by her youngest brother, Jaçinto.

She met her husband, Manuel Moniz Raposo, at a very young age and years later went on to marry him in September of 1940. Loving mother to Maria Encarnaçao (Antonio), Natalia (Manuel), Manuel (Ermelinda) and Fatima (José).
In 1959, Manuel left his family behind to come to Canada to start a life so his family could later on join him where they settled in their home on Borden Street, Toronto and went on to live a happy life together.

They filled their home weekly with their 15 grandchildren, Fernando (Joyce), Natalie, Albert, Mikey (Kelly), Liz (Claudio), Johnny, Goreth (Joe), Paulo (Shanor), Nelia (Joe), Tony (Paulina), Susie (Carlo), Jesse (Aneisha), Nilton (Dianne), Diane (Darko) and Melissa (Kevin). She lost the love of her life in 1999.

Maria Natalia went on to live almost 24 years with the love of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Steven, Erik, Samantha, Brandon, Tyler, Emily, Matthew, Julia, Jillian, Michael, Trisha, Brandon, Angelina, Andrew, Sergio, Justin, Lucas, Rachel, Ethan, Megan, Leah, Roan, Jordan, Melina, Meadow, Kasian and Christopher and great-great-grandchildren, Rosa, Shakur, Brooklyn, Noah, Haylee, Mason, Ben, Lennon, Zayden, Xavier and Kayson.

There is nothing that made Maria Natalia happier than seeing her loved ones. The love that surrounded her kept her with us for so many years.

She will be missed dearly by all of her family including her sister-in-law, many nieces and nephews and friends.

May she rest in eternal Peace. Until we meet again.

Salvador do Mundo Church at 1212 Melton Drive, Mississauga at 11a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2022. Entombment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery at 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto.
