Giuseppina, born in Roseto Valfortore, Italy on July 19, 1931, passed peacefully on Saturday January 3, 2026, at the age of 94 surrounded by her family.
Married to Filippo (deceased 2020) in 1956, devoted to each other, they would have celebrated 70 years of marriage this year. Loving and inspirational mother to Rosolina (Antonio Converso), Maria (Bruno Mucci) and Giovanni (Maria). Proud Nonna to Nelson, Sabrina, Abbie, Alicia (Richard Diniz), Anthony (beloved late), Amanda (Kevin Robinson), Nicolas (Gia Guido), Philip (Katiana Moussa) and Andrew. Loving Bisnonna to Arianna and Anthony. Cherished sister, sister-in-law and absolutely beloved Zia to her many nieces and nephews.
Briefly immigrating to England for two years before arriving in Canada in 1959, Giuseppina was dedicated to establishing a great future for her family. Instilling hard work, strong loving family values and dedication to a catholic life.
Incredible skills as a seamstress, she would sit in the sun (because that’s the best light), hemming a pair of pants or sewing together a garment that we would need for that special occasion. She would find great joy in cooking and baking especially for her many grandchildren that would visit often to remind her exactly how fantastic her creations were. Pizza, taralli and of course her chocolate chip cookies. Not to mention her unforgettable Sunday “Pasta Asciutta” lunches. Through her inspiration, many traditions will continue. Making sauce at the end of every summer, sausage every winter and of course, gathering and spending time with family and friends at the cottage in Wasaga Beach.
Giuseppina was highly devoted to her faith. She will be sadly missed by her many friends at Holy Angels Church. Together over many decades she shared with them a devotion and commitment to grow a strong catholic community. She was always ready to light a candle, listen to a mass or pray the rosary for anyone who may need some help along the way. Completely selfless, always accepting, never judging and always ready to share her love. Her memories will live on as we continue to share the many memorable stories she loved to tell.
The family would like to extend our thanks to the caregivers and support workers who showed our mom the love and care she needed over the last two years. Further, we would like to extend our gratitude to the second floor ICU staff at St. Joseph’s Health Centre for their professional care and understanding.
In lieu of flowers and in honour of Giuseppina, donations can be made to:
