In Celebration of

Maria Gallomazzei

January 4, 1928 -  October 15, 2019

Maria was born January 4th, 1928 in Cavora, P. Catanzaro, Calabria Italy. She was the 8th of 9 surviving brothers and sisters. Her parents were Domenico and Maria Ciambrone. She grew up on their small family farm in the tiny village of Accqua Pere. In 1954 she emigrated to Canada to become the bride of Francesco Gallomazzei. Together they forged a new life in Cooksville, ON Canada. Maria worked alongside many other immigrant women on the farms and small factories around Cooksville. She and Frank brought their Italian culture to the new world, growing their own food and making wine from their own grapes. Maria was very courageous and worked very hard to make a new life here in Canada. She was a devout Catholic and practiced her faith at St. Catherine of Sienna Church. Church and family meant everything to her. She and Frank were blessed with one child, John Felice who took care of both of them in their senior years. After retiring she and Frank made many new friends at the local community pools which they frequented for over 20 years. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
