Maria "Soei Tjin" Budiman beloved sister, wife, mother and grandmother passed peacefully away at Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga, on November 16 at age 81 years old.

Maria is the beloved wife of Thomas Budiman, daughter of the late Christophorus Sulaiman and the late Maria "Kon Lian" Sulaiman and sister to Husein Sulaiman, Paulus Sulaiman, Anwar Sulaiman, the late Laksita Sulaiman, the late Thomas Sulaiman and the late Thjie Sui Hiong.

Mother to Iriantho Budiman, Henie Fenton, Ernie Budiman Singh, Anita Budiman, Vivian Noehring and Carolina Budiman.

Mother-in law to Andrew Fenton, Dr Kamaljit Singh, Steve Fillion and Cal Noehring. Grandmother to Matthew Singh, Russell Fenton, Michael Singh, Isabella Budiman Russell, Jonathan Noehring, William Noehring and Liliane Fillion. Auntie to David Sulaiman, Anastasia Debbie Sulaiman, Melanie Sulaiman and the late Iskandar Sulaiman.

Born in Bangka, Indonesia, Maria moved to Jakarta, Indonesia in 1961upon her marriage to Thomas Budiman. They quickly built a family of 6 and after 12 years moved to Singapore to begin a new chapter. In 1989, her journey with her family continued to Ontario, Canada where she spent the last 30 years of her life. This is where she called home and her final resting place.

Maria will be remembered fondly for her selfless nature, love for cooking, gentle spirit, contagious smile, her warm & charismatic personality and her big heart especially to those in need. Her faith and trust in God was unwavering through both good and challenging times even through her sickness. She strongly believed that life was about helping others so others will help you in return and if its not for you, it will be for your children. Maria's love for cooking brought strangers and friends together sharing meals prepared with care and joy. Her amazing cooking will be a legacy she leaves behind.

In her last moments, she was surrounded by love and those who brought her the most happiness in life, her family.
