In Celebration of

Margaret Marie Agar (née Neil)

July 20, 1921 -  April 29, 2017

Peacefully, on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at the Village of Humber Heights, Etobicoke, in her 96th year. Predeceased by her devoted husband, Harold (1995), loving brothers Jim (Fran, Betty), Jack (Bev), and baby sister Mary Elizabeth Neil. Margaret is survived by her beloved children Catherine (Bill Ireland) and Glen (Joëlle Gendron). She was greatly adored by her grandchildren Lillian (Eoin Ruane), Jennifer, Peter (Emily Milligan) and Stephen (Manali Pradhan) with whom she shared her many talents and adventures. Nana celebrated not only three weddings, but the arrival of three great-grandsons; Liam, Gavin and Forrest; and delighted in the news of a fourth great-grandbaby on the way. Thanks to the staff at the Village of Humber Heights for their dedicated care. Also, a special thank you to private caregiver, Marjorie Hyatt of Home Instead for her exceptional support and friendship. Margaret will be remembered by many friends she made with Harold through the Royal Canadian Navy, Lambton Golf & Country Club, Humber Valley United Church and garden and art clubs in Clarkson, Cobourg and Toronto. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W. at Burnhamthorpe, on Friday, May 5, 2017 from 2 - 4 and 6-9 p.m. A private family service will be held at a later date. For those who wish memorial donations may be made to the Sick Kids Foundation or Sleeping Children Around the World.

Condolences on the loss of a beautiful, charming, witty, clever and sophisticated lady.
I loved playing 'dress-up' in her vintage closet!

Remembering good times at the CYC and the legacy left by the Agar family. And remembering also the beautiful paintings and love of art that Margaret shared with her Cobourg friends.
Sincere sympathy to all of you at this time.
