In Celebration of

Manuel Raulino

October 25, 1935 -  September 21, 2022

Surrounded by his family, Manuel Raulino peacefully passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at the age of 86.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Helia and her husband Jorge; Tony and his wife Lopa; grandchildren: Christopher and his wife Carla; Mark and his fiancé Hailey; Philip and Matt; and great grandson Carter Cristiano. Pre-deceased by his loving wife, Marilda of 63 years.

Manuel was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal and at the age of 10 moved to the island of Terceira, Azores where he went on to play professional soccer for many years until, together with his wife and young family immigrated to Canada in 1969, where they settled in Toronto. He had a passion for music and played the guitar. In keeping with the traditions of his homeland, he participated in many cultural musical festivities. In 1990, Manuel moved to Mississauga and shortly thereafter, joined the Folklore group of the Portuguese Cultural Centre of Mississauga, where he would continue to play his guitar in countless musical events, including Carassauga and Carnival. A devoted Catholic, Manuel, was also part of the Portuguese Choir at Christ the King, Catholic Church, where he volunteered countless hours playing music at Masses and other church events.

Although his passion for music and soccer was high, nothing made him happier than having his entire family sitting around the kitchen table at meal times especially at Christmas and Birthdays. He would always make sure that everyone had a cake on their birthday. He was a giving, caring person and always expressed that his one wish in life was for peace in families, communities and the world.

May he rest in peace in the grace of GOD.

Friends and family are invited to Turner & Porter "Peel" Chapel, 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga for visitation on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 from 4-9 p.m.
