My boys and I are deeply saddened by the passing of Mac, who was a gentle person with a good heart. He was a man of few words, but could talk up a storm on a topic that he was interested in. He was a spiritual man who enjoyed receiving calls from family, and showed interest in hearing stories about my boys (greatnephews) and other family members over the years. I recall in earlier years, the striking resemblance between Mac, my father and one of his other brothers - though the Fillmore brothers all shared a certain Fillmore look. The ongoing joke was that if any one of the three were to stand at the front door next to one of the others, you wouldn’t be able to tell them apart :). He maintained a youthful appearance, was very fit, and led the simple life. I will miss hearing his subtle laugh, and will be reminded of him when I pass by a Swiss Chalet - food he was quite fond of. Although family and friends will miss him dearly, we know that he has gone on to a better place, joining my father and husband, 2 of his brothers, his parents and in-laws. Definitely in good company, and they will be so happy to see you Mac. 💕
So sorry to hear of Mac's passing. My late father's best friend, family, amazing gin rummy teacher (lol), brilliant and kind-hearted gentleman, he will be greatly missed. Our hearts goes out to family and friends.
I remember many visits from Uncle Mac over the years, he and my Dad woukd take turns on the guitar ...he had a knack for playing the blues! He will be missed.
