Peacefully, on Monday, April 15, 2024, in her 95th year.
Beloved wife of the late Donald. Loving mother of Fiona Macleod Wilson and Gordon Macleod. Proud Grammie of Nicole (Adam) and Clarke (Marra). She will also be missed by Nicole and Clarke’s father, Tim Wilson. Dear brother of Bruce (late Fay) and the late Robert (late Gwen).
Madelon was a formally trained artist and began her career in the fashion industry, producing illustrations for the Toronto Star and other publications. She was an integral part of the Mississauga Visual Arts Community. Madelon was an avid traveller, often combining this with painting trips. She was a gifted painter, and the many beautiful canvases she leaves behind tell the story of her lifelong love and appreciation for beauty and nature. In particular, Madelon loved her cottage on Georgian Bay. She found her inspiration there. She also spent the happiest times of her life there and, with her husband Don, raised her two children to share her passion for the bay. She helped to instill this same passion in both her grandchildren, the other great loves of her life.
A church celebration of Madelon’s life will be held at Cooksville United Church, 2500 Mimosa Row, Mississauga, on April 29, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., with coffee and tea to follow. Cremation has taken place.
For those who wish, donations may be made to Cooksville United Church or the Georgian Bay Land Trust.
