In Celebration of

Lyola Routliffe

November 27, 1931 -  May 5, 2018

ROUTLIFFE, Lyola Teresa passed peacefully with family by her side at Wenleigh Long Term Care Residence in Mississauga ON, on Saturday, May 5, 2018. She was in her 87th year. Beloved wife for 61 years to George Thomas Routliffe. Devoted mother of Maureen (John), Teri, Chris (Dawn), Jim (Janet), and Eileen (Dave). Cherished Nana to Joe, Meagan, Amy, Matt, Jeremy (Elissa), Alyssa (Ryan), Jeannine, Severn, Riley, Jacob and Noah. Lyola will forever be remembered for her love of family, devotion to her Catholic faith and community, and her passion and skill as an artist. While Lyola always said her favourite people were those who called her “Nana”, she touched countless people – brothers, sisters; brothers- and sisters-in-law; cousins, nieces, nephews; art colleagues, nursing friends, volunteer partners, and more. She was infamous for her selfless attention to those less fortunate than herself. She had an endless love for children, boundless energy, and a passion for nature and artistic expression. As Lyola always said, she “lived a great life”. She will be welcomed with joy by her departed parents, siblings and dear “Aunt Lois” as she begins her next great adventure in the hands of our Heavenly Father.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday May 9th at Turner and Porter Funeral home, Neweduk Erin Mills Chapter, 1981 Dundas St. West Mississauga ON, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 10th at St. John of the Cross Parish, 6890 Glen Erin Drive. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul.
