Lydia grew up in Bitola, Macedonia, where she lived with her mother Jelka and brother Pece. She studied nursing in her teenage years and became a medical assistant. At the age of 19, she married and made the grand move to Canada where she started a family. There were many birthdays, milestones, and special occasions spent with family, where laughter, good food, and love were shared. Lydia continued her work as a medical assistant in Canada and studied travel, after which she made her career as a Travel Agent. She loved to experience beautiful places and that gave her the outlet to do so. Lydia loved to go to Cuba and gained an interest in scuba diving there, and went on to get her scuba diving certification in Ontario. She loved to spend her spare time in the backyard working on her garden and creating zen spaces. Lydia also enjoyed visiting her brother’s cottage and spending time with family there, where there was fun in the sun, stories shared over an open fire, and all bets were off when the cards were out to play.
In her later years, Lydia would see her nieces and nephew go through life experiences, find their partners, and start families of their own. Lydia was then diagnosed with Progressive Nuclear Palsy, which caused her health to decline and ultimately, her untimely passing. She is remembered by her brother Pece (Rose), niece Christine (Stu) and their children Owen & Reese, niece Vickie (Josh) and their son Kai and Peter (Kristy) and their daughter Evangeline.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Lydia’s memory to the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, where Lydia received much quality care, and/or the Parkinson Canada CARE Fund that supports many people facing similar illnesses
