Lucy Olga Boguski

November 23, 1948 - December 18, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Luba “Lucy” Boguski, on December 18, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Beloved mother to Mark and Michael (Eva), sister to her cherished brother, Terry (Patti), Baba to William, Stella, Evelyn and Juliet. Lucy was pre-deceased by her husband, Stasiu, and her parents, Wasyl and Olga. Lucy adored spending time with her family, especially on trips to cottages on Lake Simcoe and Paugh Lake, visiting Ocean Reef Club, and getting multiple hole-in-ones at Lambton Golf and Country Club. She always had time for others, and in recent years made several philanthropic donations to a variety of causes close to her heart. The family wishes to thank the incredible staff at Nurse Next Door, Trillium Health Partners/Mississauga Hospital and Dorothy Ley Hospice for their exemplary care.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dorothy Ley Hospice, or Sandgate Women’s Shelter of York Region Inc.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., on Monday, December 22nd from 2-5 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Parish, 2305 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON M6S 1P1 on Tuesday, December 23rd at 10 a.m. Interment Park Lawn Cemetery.

My dear friend of 40 + years brought so much warmth, excitement and love to me and my family. She was the instigator of so many fun activities over the years from gourmet dinners, to wine tours , to shopping expeditions , long in to the night conversations and so much more. Her love for her family topped everything else. What an example she set of how to get the most out of life.

We will miss you my friend. As one of your oldest friends, I can clearly re call the moment Kathy introduced you and Stan to me. Your passing has left a hole in our hearts. You were more than a friend. You were part of our family. My children so enjoyed your company. You managed to ease their grief after Kathy passed. For that and your generous friendship, we are eternally grateful. As I said, Your passing has left a hole in our hearts.

I will miss Lucy forever; she was such an amazing generous friend. We shared so many golf games, dinners, concerts at the Briars and good times.

My sincere condolences to all her family; they have lost an amazing person. Ten years ago when I was facing cancer Lucy gave me an infinity bracelet which I wear all the time.. Just one example of her generosity.

From all accounts was THE best mom in western Etobicoke by a landslide; and the proof to me is in the manner in which her two fine sons (Mark & Michael) conduct themselves & raised their children ~ to wit: with a sheer abundance of character, integrity, kindness and indelible racquet skills on & off the Crt; and how each has raised their respective offspring & young adults (Juliet Evelyn Will & Stela) upon Whom this may be the hardest.
