In Celebration of
Lucy Boccia
December 10, 1946 -
July 23, 2019
It is with great sadness that the family of Lucy Boccia announces her passing this past Tuesday, July 23, 2019. Lucy was brought into the world by parents Antonio and Rosa Roberto, in Roseto Valfortore Foggia, Italy, on December 10, 1946, and she is survived by husband Antonio Boccia. They built a family and shared a life together in Mississauga, Canada, filled with her love of good food, culture, gardening and of greatest importance of all, her friends and family including sons Sam and Rob, and her life’s greatest joys, her grandchildren, Adam and Isabella Boccia.
In a sombre time, we would like her loved ones to know that she spent the last days of her life with the people she loved, and her last hours enjoying an evening of laughs, food and friendship at the cottage she adored in Niagara, before passing away suddenly and without suffering with her trusted companion Ginger by her side, just before midnight: In other words, Lucy squeezed out as much time and joy out of her last day that she could have and through our sorrow our hearts are lightened as we see that as beautiful and fitting tribute to the way she lived her life.
Friends may call at the Turner & Porter "Peel" Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy 10 N. of Q.E.W) on Sunday, July 28, 2019 from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, July 29, 2019 at Holy Angels Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Entombment at Assumption Catholic Cemetery.
In honor of our beloved Lucy Boccia, this memorial has been associated with charities which the family holds close to heart. If you would like to support one of these causes, please make a donation to any of the following charities, St. Michael's Hospital or The Lung Association of Canada - C.O.P.D.
