In Celebration of

Lorna Williams

June 4, 1949 -  May 25, 2025

Devoted mother, grandmother and loyal friend, Lorna May Williams passed away on Sunday, May 25th, 2025 at the age of 75.

She is survived by her daughter Joya, son-in-law David and her granddaughters Daya and Janiya. She has also left behind her siblings: Nolda, Winston, Zena, Beverley, Dalton, Audley, Annette, Jennifer, Clive and Morale.

Not only was Lorna a woman of faith, she was also an avid reader, gardener and fitness enthusiast.

Born June 4th, 1949 in (St. James) Jamaica, Lorna later settled in Toronto with her husband Joslyn Williams (divorced) and her baby daughter. She worked for Bell Canada for 29+ years while raising her daughter. Lorna eventually moved to Mississauga with her daughter in the 80s. Retiring in her early 50s, she dedicated her time to volunteering with organizations like V.O.N. and PLASP and eventually taking care of her grandchildren.

Lorna's life is a powerful example of strength, resilience, loyalty, love and most of all faith. She never failed to share words of wisdom like "God's not sleeping" or "Pray ceaselessly".
One of her favourite scriptures was Philippians 4:6-7: "do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let our requests be made known to God.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Her beautiful smile and infectious laughter will be forever missed.

Final goodbyes will take place at Neweduk Chapel, 1981 Dundas St. West, Mississauga on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 3pm

In memory of Lorna, donation can be made to the Sick Kids foundation which was one of her favourite charities.

I'm sorry to see you go. I will miss your smile and mischievous personality. Even in your final days we were able to make me laugh. as you made playful fun of me. We miss you, but know you are now with our Father resting peacefully.

Your love and legacy will live on through Joya, Daya & Janiya. I am positive your love and dedication will continue to guide them.

My deepest sympathy to Lorna’s entire family.
Joya I have always admired how your mom lit up when she spoke about you and your family especially the grandchildren. I know that she’s gone home to be with her Lord and Saviour.
