In Celebration of

Lindsay Headland

March 16, 1989 -  June 22, 2023

It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce we lost our beloved Lindsay on June 22nd after a short illness. As always, she fought with fierce determination but this was a fight she could not win.

Lindsay is survived by her devastated parents, Brian and Lynda, her loving brothers David and Matthew and sister-in-law Haruka and by her niece and namesake, little Noa Lindsay Headland.

Lindsay went to the Etobicoke School of the Arts, where she was in the Music Theatre program, and the Student School where she made many lasting friends.

She loved her work in film, starting as a lowly PA and rising to Art Director/Production Designer. She was proud of her ability to pack and drive a cube truck, her favorite part of the job was props and she never complained (well, rarely) about shooting outdoors overnight in the deep of winter. She was always up for a challenge, whether it was holding a tarantula, crawling on her stomach out of camera range to make a rig work or creating a crown out of a tin pot.

She doted on her Sphynx cat Bennie and had a predilection for pet rodents, particularly rats and hairless guinea pigs.

From the time she was nicknamed "Fireball Lindsay" in nursery school, she was always full of spirit, energy and determination. We were immensely proud of her.

We would like to thank her cousins and the friends who, like her brothers, immediately volunteered to be a live donor for her.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 2-3pm. A Funeral Service to follow in the Chapel at 3pm.

In lieu of flowers, we suggest donating to CAMH in her name.

"Her absence is like the sky, spread over everything"

Our deepest condolences go out to the Headlands for the sudden loss of Lindsay.

Besides being a cherished daughter, sister and aunt, Lindsay was a talented art director and production designer. I know, because she is responsible for the look of one of my favourite guilty pleasures, the incomparable television show, “Fear thy Neighbour”.

Our thoughts and sincere sympathy are with you at this terribly difficult time.

with love,

Judy and Vince and family
