In Celebration of
Frank Lill
June 6, 1933 -
September 23, 2016
Frank Lill (Ferri to those that knew him well)
Dad passed away peacefully at home with mom at his side on Friday September 23, 2016 at the age of 83.
My father lived a full life and always held family at the heart of everything he did. He was deeply loved and respected by all who shared in his daily life. I know my mother was the great love of his life, and for myself the saying “fathers and daughters” holds ever so true. It was his grandchildren though that were his greatest pride. We lived next door to each other, and he was a full participant in all our lives as my children grew up. The arrival of his great-grandson, Lukas, brought additional joy to his later years.
Dad had a very strong and proud personality, with an unbelievable work ethic that translated into many successes. His eternal can-do attitude and sheer will to succeed transcended any challenge. This quality, perhaps his greatest legacy, has been passed to myself, my husband John, and his grandchildren.
Dad was born Franz Lill in Mucsi, Hungary on June 6, 1933 as the middle child of Johann Lill and Katerina Lill (Lotz). He met my mother, Agnes Eva Lill (Bosz), in January, 1951 at a dance in Eltville, Germany. They were married on April 14, 1954, immigrated to Canada from Germany in August of the same year, and settled in Toronto. I was born in 1957, and growing up have so many truly wonderful memories of time with my parents and extended family.
Dad and mom were true to each other in so many ways for their entire 62-years of marriage. They were partners and best friends in every imaginable way. He is already greatly missed.
Dad is survived by his adored wife, Eva. He will always be remembered as a loving figure to myself and my husband, John, to his grandchildren John (Val), Michelle (Paul), and Elizabeth, as well as to his great-grandchild, little Lukas. His sister Elizabeth, brother Emil, niece Marilyn, and nephews Pierre as well as Andre will never forget his spirit and strength of character.
His life was a life well lived; surrounded by family and friends. He rests in peace, awaiting the great day of the resurrection when the living and the dead will be judged.
Dad, your work is done and it is time to rest; we will continue on till we meet again.
Rosemary
P.S. I love you
