Leslie Marie (Nee Gillis) Hurley

August 22, 1967 - July 15, 2021

With heartfelt sadness, our family announces the passing of Leslie Marie Hurley on July 15, 2021, at the young age of 53, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family during this difficult time.

Leslie was a beautiful person with a kind and selfless soul. She was the beloved spouse of Bernie for 27 years, devoted granddaughter to (late) Doris and Russ McIsaac, loving daughter to Pat and Jerry Gillis, cherished sister of Laurie (Bob Proulx), loved daughter-in-law of Mary (late Michael) and cherished sister-in-law to Michael (Linda) and Orla, much-loved aunt to Matthew, John Michael, Elissa, Ryan, Connor, Jacqueline, James and Ella, special niece to John and Merry and loved by her cousins Adam and Kate (Ian), Kaitlyn, Lauren and Elinor.

There are no words to express how much she will be missed by her family, business partner Rosanna, colleagues Sue Anne, Jessica, Agness, Ashley, Tatiana, Olga, and clients.

Leslie volunteered and devoted much of her time fostering and finding homes for stray cats. Her wish in lieu of flowers was that donations be made to the Annex Cat rescue at CanadaHelps.org to continue her efforts.

Visitation will take place at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel 2357 Bloor St W. Visitation is from 1:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 18, 2021

Leslie was a beautiful person inside and out.
Her love of helping cats is how we met.
She was kind, loving, giving of her time and I will miss her terribly.
I will miss out texts and chats but treasure the memories.

It is with great sadness that we have learned of Lesley’s passing. She was a very kind soul with a deep passion for animal welfare. I met her through our mutual volunteer work with Annex Cat Rescue. Her dreams were as big as her heart and her life has been cut way too short. We will do our best to carry on her work in her absence.
